ARMY ORGANISES AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON EVE OF WORLD POPULATION DAY IN KUPWARA

Kupwara:On the eve of World Population Day an event to spread the awareness regarding controlling the population was organised by Chak Kigam Camp under aegis of Charkut garrison at Kigam on 11 Jul 20.
Aim of the interaction was to spread the awareness amongst the civil population regarding importance and benefits of having small family. During the event various population issues i.e importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty caused by increase in population, maternal Health etc were told to them by medical team of the Batallion.
Taking advantage of the gathering a brief on precautions against spread of COVID was also emphasised and items related to health and hygiene were also distributed.
The response of the civilian and their participation in the event was really heartening.
Army’s role to spread the awareness on such issues were appreciated by the locals.
