Kupwara:World Poetry Day was celebrated in Banpura, Trehgam by students of various schools who participated in the event with full zeal and enthusiasm.

Competition was held among students wherein the students recited several songs and poems.
Principals of the schools also attended the function.

The winners of the events were felicitated by Company Commander of Trehgam Company, Humdard E Kupwara Battalion.

Poetry is the mainstay of cultures and, over centuries, can communicate the innermost values of diverse traditions.

Main aim of celebrating the day was to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and to offer endangered languages the opportunity to be heard within their communities.

The eagerness and the excitement of the students to participate in such an event was clearly visible through their participation.

Teachers and students thanked Indian Army for celebrating World Poetry Day and thus providing students to come forward and showcase their talent.
