Kangan,Sept 14 : A woman was injured when a Black wild bear attacked her in Kangan area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday afternoon.

Reports reaching said that a woman was mauled by a wild bear near Powerhouse Bridge when she was working in her fields.

In the attack, 35 year old woman sustained injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Where from she was referred to SKIMS for future treatment.

As per locals, bears are roaming in their village from last year due to which people fear to go to the orchards and rice fields.

Locals have urged the Wildlife Department to take necessary steps to catch the bear roaming in the village.
