Baramulla, Jan 28, :Alleging failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in providing adequate water supply, the residents of Yarbugh Rafiabad here in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district today held protest.

The protestors, who hit to road carrying pitchers and buckets raised slogans against the PHE Department and District administration Baramulla.

They alleged that with they are suffering due to no regular supply of drinking water.

“Several times the matter was brought into the notice of the concerned authorities, but nothing has been done till date.

“We staged protests many times to highlight our grievance but no action was taken in this regard till date”, the residents alleged.

Protesters alleged that government had sanctioned 21000 feet water pipes but they don’t know where these pipes vanish and why no official is giving any satisfactory reply to them.

The protestors blocked the road and demanded regular supply of drinking water in their area. They sought intervention of higher ups to mitigate their sufferings.
