Rafiabad:Girls are part of our nation builders and force multipliers. Correct channelising of the sports talent and thought process of the youth and particularly girls will help in prosperity of Valley and the nation.
With the aim to boost and nurture the hidden sporting talent among the girls as also to celebrate the pious month of Ramzaan, Indian Army organised Girls Volleyball Tournament at Dangiwacha, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The aim of this event is to identify sporting talent and provide the girls and women of Kashmir an opportunity to excel in sports, to take up sports as profession and inculcate values of sportsmanship.
Indian Army with the mission to remove all barriers and gender biasness led development ensuring and enabling environment & ecosystem for girls to thrive, transcend and transform their lives is taking initiative by creating opportunities in various fields like sports, education and skills.
A total 11 teams from across Rafiabad, Sopore, Baramulla and Handwara are participating in the tournament, on Day 1 a total of 05 matches were played.
The Tournament is being conducted by Miss Ulfat Mushtaq of We Care Kashmir Foundation and Mrs Humira Syed renowned Educationist, students and Youth of Rafiabad
Citizens from all walks of life are appreciating the efforts by the Indian Army to encourage sports among girls which will further lead to development of character and long sustainable peace.
