Ganderbal, Dec 19: A CRPF Constable on Sunday shot himself dead in Gund area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Police sources told news agency that a trooper from 118 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Gund on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Deonath Yadav (41), son of Surat Yadav a resident of Mirzapur Uttar Pradesh.

SHO Police Station Gund Mir Abdul Rasheed confirmed that trooper committed suicide. He said police have taken cognizance of the incident and have initiated further investigation.
