Srinagar,Mar 22: On transfer of various Police Officers, colourful ceremonies were held at Kupwara, Awantipora, Handwara, Sopore and Budgam.

In a statement issued to “Greater Now News”,Dr G.V.S Chakravarthy-IPS assumed the charge as SSP Kupwara, Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS assumed the charge as SSP Budgam, Shri Mohammad Yosuf-JKPS assumed the charge as SSP Awantipora, Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS assumed the charge as SP Handwara and Shri Sudhanshu Verma-IPS assumed the charge as SP Sopore.

After assuming their charges, the officers convened introductory meetings with police officers of respective districts and impressed upon them to work with dedication and zeal to fulfil the aspirations of the people.

Meanwhile, farewell functions were also organized in favour of various outgoing officers on their transfer.

Sopore Police organized a farewell function at District Police Lines Sopore in the honour of outgoing SSP Sopore Shri Javaid Iqbal-JKPS upon his transfer from Police District Sopore. Budgam Police organized a farewell function at GO’s Mess Budgam in the honour of outgoing SP Budgam Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS upon his transfer. Handwara Police also organized a farewell function at District Police Lines Handwara in the honour of outgoing SP Handwara Dr. G.V Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS upon his transfer from Police District Handwara.

The departing officers were presented mementos as a goodwill gesture and best wishes for them for their future assignments.
