They said that some locals spotted the body near Kapren village of Verinag area of the district and immediately informed the police about it.
Soon a police team reached the spot and recovered the “decomposed” body, the officials told.
They said that a case has been registered and investigations set into motion.
He has been identified as 21-yearr-old Amir Hussain Sheikh son of Abdul Rehman of Phaloo Kulgam who was missing from 20 December last year.
