Strict restrictions continue across Kashmir valley to avoid any Law and Order problem

 

Iqbal Amin,Srinagar, Sep 03: After the death of Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani who breathed his last at his Hyderpora residence on Wednesday night, Strict restrictions were imposed across Kashmir region to avoid any untoward incident.

 

Besides BSNL, Mobile calling and internet service also barred. JK BOSE and University exams also postponed. Huge deployment of Security forces in all sensitive areas of kashmir.

 

A Police official while confirming to Greater Now said that there was apprehension of law and order problem in the Valley after the death of SAS Geelani, To avoid the same and to safeguard the lives and property of common masses, strict restrictions are placed across Valley. However Train service has also been suspended across Valley, he added.

 

It’s Pertinent to mention that Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Sh. Dilbag Singh in a tweet on security scenario in J&K after passing away of SAS Geelani said that “No untoward incident was reported from anywhere. The situation is being reviewed and watched closely. The deployments are in position.

 

Meanwhile,Jammu and Kashmir Police refutes allegations rounding on social media about Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s funeral.

 

IGP Kashmir Zone Sh. Vijay Kumar IPS in a tweet said that “Reported allegations against Police are baseless. In fact, Police facilitated in bringing dead-body from house to graveyard as there was apprehension that miscreants might take undue advantage of situation. Relatives participated in last rites”

 

Pertinent to mention here that In the view of death of Senior Hurriyat leader, DIG NKR Sh. Sujit Kumar IPS requested public of North Kashmir not to be panic, and avoid movement towards Srinagar.He further appeals public to keep calm,and stay inside their houses and pray for the departed soul.
