Srinagar Jan 01: The spontaneous shutdown was witnessed in central Srinagar city on Friday against the Lawaypora, encounter where three “Militants” were killed.

The families of slain trio however, had claimed that their children were students and not militants.

Parts of Lal Chowk markets that include Residency Road, clock tower (Ghanta Ghar), Maisuma are observing a shutdown while as parts of downtown are also observing shut down.

Meanwhile there was no strike call given by any pro-freedom or armed group.

But the traffic was plying normally on roads across Srinagar.

Meanwhile, shutdown continues for the second day in Pulwama and Shopian which are the native districts of slain youth.

There was heavy deployment of forces also on the roads in almost all the shutdown parts of Srinagar city.

Repeatedly the families have made demand for returning of the dead bodies of their sons for the last rites.CNS
