Sopore, Feb 23: In its campaign “war on drugs” Sopore Police generated a specific information regarding drug peddling, Acting swiftly Police party led by Incharge Police Post Watergam PSI Bilal Rashid under the close supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Ameen Bhat-JKPS, and SHO Police Station Dangiwacha Insp. Imtiyaz Ahmad on tip off, established a naka at Ladoora crossing intercepted a suspected person which tried to flee after noticing Police party but due to alertness of Police party present he was caught tactfully. While searching 1520 capsules of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus were recovered from his possession and accused was arrested.

The Identity of the accused has been ascertained as Bilal Ahmad Ganie S/O Munawar Ahmad Ganie R/O Ladoora Rafiabad.

Regarding the incident case FIR No. 21/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police station Dangiwacha and further investigation into the matter has been taken up.

It is pertinent to mention that Sopore police has launched a full fledged war against drug peddlers/drug dealings and will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs/social evils within the District with Re-invigorating anti-criminality campaigns. General public of Police District Sopore are once again requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or any other anti social activities in their vicinity.
