Sopore Police arrested one more notorious drug peddler, contraband substance recovered
Sopore, Aug 08: Continuing its efforts to rein in the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police arrested one more notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Statement issued to Greater Now News reads that “Today a Police Party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO Insp. Khalid Fayaz under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Furqan Qadir-JKPS established naka at Jamai Masjid Sopore. On seeing Police party a person tried to runaway from spot, was caught tactfully. During his personal search, (16 Grams apparently Brown Sugar like substance) were recovered from his possession. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as: Muzaffar Ahmad Marazi @Mudd Marazi S/O Muhammad Akbar R/O Sofi Hamam Sopore”.
In this regard, case FIR number 167/2022 under section 8/21 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation taken up.
Community members are always requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
