Kupwara:In an effort to create awareness about road safety, Assistant Regional Transport office conducted a program on Road safety and Covid-19 awareness at the Kupwara Town Hall.ARTO Kupwara Mukhtar Ahmad along with his team explained the basic traffic rules to be observed while driving on road.

The programme was aimed at making people, especially drivers and federation members, aware of the traffic rules and safety, and their responsibilities while on road

ARTO Kupwara Mukhtar Ahmad delivered a detailed presentation to acquaint everyone with traffic rules and Covid-19 awareness.The aim was to create consciousness among locals and drivers and to sensitize them to important road etiquettes like the importance of Social Distancing, masks,first aid, safety-helmet, seat-belt, safe passage to hospital referrals and fire tenders on priority.

President’s of Various federations and Public transport associations attended the programme and while addressing the gathering President’s of various associations advised drivers to follow the traffic rules and safety measures, avoid reckless and drunken driving, and keep their documents intact.

Meanwhile a preparatory meeting regarding arrangement of vehicles for upcoming elections was also held and ARTO Kupwara Mukhtar Ahmad urged drivers and vehicle owners to support the administration in bringing down traffic congestion in the District.
