Srinagar, Apr 22: Railway police officer who was injured in a militant attack in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district succumbed to his injuries in Srinagar hospital during pre dawn hours.

In a hit and run incident, Sub Inspector Dev Raj and Head Constable Surinder Singh of Railway Protection Force were injured after a pistol borne militant fired upon them at point blank range at Kakapora Railway Station outside a tea stall.

Singh died on the spot and Dev Raj was battling for life at SMHS Hospital Srinagar.

A doctor confirmed the death of the Railway police officer.
