Rafiabad:The week long Rafiabad soccer cup organized by Rafiabad youths concluded on friday evening at Ganapora.

The tournament was going on from one week and received an overwhelming response of over 08 teams from Rafiabad and near by regions. The zeal and sportsmanship displayed by all the teams was testimony of rich sporting culture and high standard of skills of youth of Rafiabad

In a colourful event, the final match was played between the MFSC Ganapora and Reshipura FC teams. Both the teams showcased their immense talent.The teams from Ganapora emerged victorious. The Winner and Runners up team were duly felicitated.

The aim of the competition was to nourish the talent in the youths so that they can get the opportunity to go higher in the field.

The event was attended by Govt Officials, Village heads and large number of youths and locals from Rafiabad region. Speaking on the occasion many respectables conveyed their appreciation to the organising Committee and people of Rafiabad for successful conduct of the tournament.

They exhorded the youth to nurture their skills further by constructively engaging themselves in sports and cultural activities

It is pertinent to mention that at a time when Pakistan-backed groups are attempting to lure Kashmiri youth into criminal activities, the locals with assistance from indian army are taking a strong stand to ensure a bright future for youth in the UT and in line with this, the Rafiabad army has decided a platform for Kashmiri youth to showcase their talents.
