Srinagar,Mar 20: In order to impart vocational skills to empower women in the area of Nopora village, Halka – Pazalpora, a ‘Skill Development Centre’ has been established by the local governing body with assistance from Army on 20 Mar 2021.
In a statement issued to “Greater Now News” which reads,The women of the area will be introduced to vocational courses on stitching and sewing, which will empower them to contribute to their household financially. As an initial aid to make the Skill Development Centre functional, eight Sewing Machines were provided by Army. The concept of this centre envisages to function as a self sustaining machinery fully operated and funded by the local governing body.
The Army alongwith officials from State Agricultural Dept also distributed Agricultural seeds to the villagers of Pazalpora. The villagers were encouraged to undertake Organic Farming. The institute will not only help in instilling confidence and sense of empowerment in women but also in strengthening cordial relationship between Army and the Awam.
The local Population appreciated the work of the local governing body and assistance from the Army. The appreciation was evident from the 30 students who has volunteered for the program.
