With an aim to foster and reinforce the spirit of peace and communal harmony, the Rafiabad army 32 Rashtriya Rifles in north kashmir organised a grand Iftar Party for the locals of the area.
Guests poured in large numbers and mingled with each other, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Those who were present at the party offered their prayers, and then, interacted with each other over dinner.
More than 100 persons including officers from civil administration, journalists, members of traders federation, Public representatives, religious leaders and other security forces attended the event making the occasion a grand success.
The Commanding Officer 32 RR said such receptions are organized each year to bring people of different community’s closer, adding that this spreads the message of love and peace among the people.
This Iftar party is organized every year and everyone here has a good relation with the army as well as among themselves. People from different religions as well as the army celebrate all the festivals together,” CO 32 RR BS Khandare Said.
After the traditional way of breaking the fast and nimaz, the GOC sat on the floor for dinner in a trami, a round copper plate that accommodates four people from four sides simultaneously in Kashmiri dinner parties.
Locals while appreciating the friendly gesture of Rafiabad Army told that these programmes will strengthen the bonhomie between the army and local populace.
