Srinagar: An Army soldier and a militant was killed while as a J&K police personal has been injured in an ongoing encounter between militants and government forces in Gusoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

Sources told GN that in ongoing encounter, one soldier and one Militant was killed and a cop recieved bullet wounds.

Earlier, a joint team of Police, army’s 53RR, CRPF and police launched cordon search operation in Goosu area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

Two to three militants are believed to be trapped and operation was under way when this report was filled.
