Srinagar, Dec 3: In a brazen violation, some Private Schools have started selling the books away from their schools and have arranged designated counters for the sale.

The government order clearly says that Private Schools cannot sell the books prescribed by them.

Kashmir News Trust has learnt that School Authorities have kept their school staff for the sale of books at some designated counters.

KNT Reporter found the School Staff of a Private School in Srinagar selling the books to parents at a designated Store. Teachers selling books there declined to comment on the issue, fearing reprisal.

A member of Parents Association of Private Schools said, “School authorities are forcing them to buy the books away from the schools at designated sale counter and staff of the school is selling the books that too on exorbitant rates. Though there has been clear directive from the Government that schools cannot sell books, yet this violation is going on under the nose of the government.
