While throwing light over the achievements of police in the concluding year, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar said that in the year 2021, they managed to neutralize 171 militants, among which 152 were locals and 19 foreigners.
He said 82 militants and their associates were apprehended. “597 over ground workers were arrested in 2021.”
Kumar as per news agency said one more achievement of the police was that it busted 10 militant hideouts, destroyed 11 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), recovered 115 AK-47 rifles, 5 M4 Rifles, 5 SLR, 2 Insas and 167 pistols from militants and their associates.
He said burial management of Syed Ali Geelani was one of the achievements of police that was peaceful and besides this year there was no shutdown call forwarded by All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
