Srinagar, June 09: Police in Sopore alongwith security forces have arrested 02 hybrid militants linked with proscribed outfit LeT (TRF). Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession.
Based on specific input about movement of militants, a Joint naka was established by PC Sopore along with 52RR at Gurseer in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo. During checking, the joint party intercepted 02 persons coming from Darpora Delina towards Seer who on seeing joint naka party tried to escape from the spot but were apprehended tactfully.
The arrested duo has been identified as Faizan Ahmad Paul son of Fayaz Ahmad Paul resident of Pinjoora Shopian and Muzamil Rashid Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir resident of Aarihal Pulwama. Incriminating materials arms & ammunition including 02 pistols, 02 magazines and 05 pistol rounds were recovered from their possession.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested persons are hybrid militants of proscribed organisation LeT (TRF) and were in constant search of an opportunity to carry out attacks on security forces as well as civilians including outside labourers.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo and investigation has been initiated.
