Srinagar: 28 july :Stating that the Operations are not the only way to handle a conflict, IG CRPF Charu Sinha today said that a multi-pronged approach was always needed to handle a conflict- militancy or Naxalism or any other conflict.

“There have been some very good counter-militancy operations. But Operations are not the only way to handle any conflict whether it is militancy or  Naxalism in LWE areas. Operations are not the only way to handle a conflict. It needs a multi-pronged approach to handle a conflict,” she told.

Sinha, who is an IPS officer of the 1996-batch Telangana cadre, and presently posted as Inspector General (IG) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Srinagar sector, one of the highly sensitive areas in Jammu and Kashmir, said the most important part of the strategy is to tap the youth on whom militancy or naxalism is thriving.

“Whether we are giving opportunities to those youth to live a normal life and better their lives,” she said.
