Delhi, Mar 31: The National Investigation Agency, or NIA, said in a statement on Wednesday mentioned that a court had convicted a Pakistani militant affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba and sentenced him to 10 years in prison and also fined him for conspiring to carry out attacks in India.
According to News Agency, Bahadur Ali alias Saifullah Mansoor, a resident of Pakistan, was found guilty by a Delhi-based NIA court and the court had issued various legal provisions for the same.
Meanwhile, according to the NIA the Lashkar-e-Toiba case dates back to July 2016. Saifullah and his two accomplices, Abu Saad and Abu Darda, were trained to carry out attacks in India.
NIA mentions that Masoor was arrested on July 25, 2016 in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district along with arms and ammunition.
According to the NIA, Mansoor had made several revelations during interrogation, after which a charge sheet was filed in this regard on June 1, 2017. The statement further added that Mansoor’s associates Abu Saad and Abu Darda were killed on February 14, 2017 during an encounter in Hajjan Kupwara.
According to the NIA, Mansoor also gave information about his other accomplices during interrogation, including Zahoor Ahmed Pir and Nazir Ahmed Pir, residents of Kashmir, after which they were also arrested adding that further trial in the case against other charge sheeted accused was underway.
