Kulgam, Nov 10: A 43-year-old woman from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district was killed after she was hit by a ‘mentally-challenged’ man with a stick on Tuesday afternoon.

Police sources told that a quadragenarian identified as Mehmooda Akhter, wife of Muzafar Ahmad Najar of Shurat area of Kulgam was critically
injured after she was hit with a stick by ‘mentally-challenged’ man identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad Guroo.

Akhter was immediately taken to District Hospital Kulgam where doctors declared her brought dead on arrival, an official said.

The official added that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law in this regard—(KNO)
