Kupwara, Aug 21 : A man driving a Maruti car died after losing control over the vehicle that fell into a deep gorge in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The incident occurred at Khotodiyian area that falls in the jurisdiction of police station Karnah.

Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a Maruti (JK01H-6502) fell into a deep gorge after the driver Shafeeq Ahmed Dar, a resident of Naciyan Karnah lost control over it.

The driver was taken to Sub-District Hospital Tanghdar where doctors declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, a tipper driver died after the tipper he was driving skidded off the road at SK Bala area in Ajas Bandipora.

Police sources said that Farooq Ahmed Shah of SK Bala Ajas lost control over the speeding tipper (JK01N-1440) as a result he sustained serious injuries.

Locals tried to shift him to nearby hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way.

Police in this regard registered a case.
