Ganderbal, May 15: A labourer died on Saturday after a cement plate fell on him during the construction work on Z-Morh tunnel in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Under-construction 6.5 km long road Z-Morh Tunnel will connect Kashmir with Ladakh round the year.

Sources privy said that a labourer came under a heavy cement plate leaving him grievously injured.

While divulging the details senior police official told that the labourer who was working with a Contractor in Gagangir area and whom police identified as Mushtaq Baniya, a resident of Gagangir Sonmarg was taken to Primary Health Centre Kullan where from he was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Immediately after reaching the hospital the labourer succumbed to his injuries in Srinagar hospital.
