Kupwara, Dec 23: Kupwara police on Wednesday held a drug de-addiction rally here in the district headquarters to generate awareness about the ill-effects of drug abuse.

An official part of the rally told that “On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar, District Police Kupwara organized a drug de-addiction rally in main-town Kupwara.”

The rally led by DySP DAR Kupwara Sarfaraz Bashir besides DO Kupwara and other officials was taken from Police post Bazar upto Bus stand in the main town.

The police personnel were accompanied by a sizeable number of civilians including students, shopkeepers, drivers and people from other walks of life, who according to the official held banners, placards and announced through loudspeakers against the sale and use of drugs and other such narcotics.

“The main focus of the rally was to aware young generation about the ill-effects of drug abuse”, the official added.
