Kreeri Encounter ends with killing of third militant

The two day long encounter in Kreeri in Baramulla district has finished with forces killing the third militant who had engaged them in an intense gunfight ,taking the total death toll to eight including two CRPF personal , two army men, one J&K Police SPO and three militants .
SSP Baramulla told that the militant’s dead body has been spotted, adding that the area would be properly sanitized before lifting the cordon .
According to Reports, this is the first time since 2004 that a gunfight had broken out in Kreeri town. The encounter had raged between forces and militants on Monday morning after militants attacked a Naka party at Doolipora- Kreeri junction in the outskirts of the town killing three SFs including two CRPF men and one SPO of J&K Police.
Two militants were later killed in the afternoon in the encounter that followed the attack. Later two army men were also lost their lives in the encounter which lasted more than thirty three hours. The third militant who was killed this afternoon is believed to be a foreigner and named Usman.
Two AK47 Rifles and 3 Pistols alongwith other ammunition have been recovered.
