Srinagar:JKPCC daily wagers and consolidated employees staged a protest in the Srinagar Head office at Haft Chinar and at JKPCC office Panama Chowk Jammu. The protesting employees under the banner of JKPCC employees union, while raising the slogans demanded regularisation of their Services.
The protesting employees told Greater Now that we are working in the department from last twenty five years on a meager amount due to which we and our families are facing extreme hardships.
President JKPCC employees union Mir Majid told that “we have been suffering a lot, despite our repeated requests authorities are turning deaf years towards us and still no steps have been taken to regularize our services.we are working on a very meager amount, for that we have been demanding the implementation of minimum wages act which has not been implemented yet, we are forced to protest for our demands.
It is pertinent to mention here that in JKPCC there are almost 1200 Daily wagers/consolidated employees working from last 25 years whose services have not been regularised yet.
The JKPCC daily wagers employees appealed honorable LG Manoj Sinha to look into the matter at an earliest so that their hardships will end.
