Srinagar, Dec 17: A massive fire has broke out in an Army Infantry Brigade camp at Lawoosa Mawar area, falling under Nowgam sector, in north-Kashmir’s Handwara.

Reports reaching said that a blaze erupted at around 2300 hours inside 17 Infantry Brigade Camp, which soon after spread a vast area.

According to locals, the raging fire has caused ‘quite some damage’ as they can hear loud bangs inside the bastion.

Meanwhile the inmates in houses falling in vicinity to the fire spot have fled to safer places out of panic.

However despite several attempts, no official could be contacted by this news service to independently verify the incident, when this report is being filed. (GNS)
