Uri, Aug 8 : A woman allegedly committed suicide after coming to know about the demise of her husband.
The incident occurred in Saidpora Uri area of North Kashmir’s Barmaulla district.
Locals told that an elderly man identified as Aulad Ali Shah who had been admitted at Government Medical College Baramulla for treatment died of cardiac arrest.
Locals added that as the dead body was shifted to his house, 52 year old wife of the deceased allegedly ended her life after consuming some poisonous substance. “Though she was taken to Sub District Hospital Uri, doctors declared her dead,” said a local.
Station House Officer, Uri, Muhammad Ashraf told that prima facie it seems wife failed to bear the loss of her husband and ended life. “A case has been registered and investigation set into motion,” he said.(KNT)
