Handwara,Apr 04: On the directions of SP Handwara Sh Sandeep Gupta(IPS),today a drug awareness programme has been conducted by Handwara police in Village Hafrada in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vilgam. The inhabitants of the Village including sarpanch, panchs and youth participated in the programme. The programme was headed by SHO PS Villgam Insp. Iftikhar Ahmad.

The aim of the programme was to create awareness among the populace of the area about the ill effects of drugs, preventive measures to be taken to eradicate this menace and the role of civil societies, parents and youth to fight this war.

In a statement issued to “Greater Now News”,On the occasion SHO PS vilgam briefed the parents about their role to be played in enriching the mental and physical health of their wards,also stressed upon them that parents can play pivotal role in assessing their children either he is drug addict or not and may take further steps in rehabilitating their wards with cooperation of police,so that the future generations may be saved.

Police Handwara is always available for help to those who are victims of this addiction and will make all possible efforts to help and rehabilitate those affected persons. Cooperation of the public is immensely needed in all aspects till the society would be made drug free.
