Handwara, Mar 26: Handwara Police continuing war against drug menace and to eradicate this menace from society,today Police party of Police Station Vilgam established a naka/ patrolling within the jurisdiction. During checking the police party intercepted two scooty borne persons namely Tariq Ahmad War @Tiger mama S/o Mohd Akbar War R/o Hardona and Gh Nabi Dar S/o Mohd Munawar Dar R/o Pazipora

In a statement issued to “Greater Now News”,During search of the duo 50 grams of psychotropic substance and Rs.1900 cash has been recovered which they were transporting for the purpose of sale .As per the sources both are chronic drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Ramhal vilgam.

Accordingly legal action has been taken and case FIR no. 21/21 u/s 8/20 ,29 NDPS act has been registered against the accused persons, Scooty bearing reg no: HR05BA/3742 was also seized and investigation taken up.

Locals applauded the role of Handwara Police and demand strict action against drug peddlers.

Handwara police again appeals the people of Handwara District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against this menace.
