Kupwara:With the number of COVID-19 cases increasing throughout India,Chak Kigam Camp of 47 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Charkut garrison based in Kupwara launched a campaign to raise awareness on the pandemic in the remote areas.

Army propagated the necessity of staying at home and to avoid unnecessary gatherings with the help of a megaphone in Shumriyal.

The information was proliferated in hindi and in vernacular by a non kashmiri to gather interest of locals.

The same was also announced with the help of maulvis at masjids and a number of Covid precautionary posters were also pasted in the villages to spread awareness.

“We are thankful to army officers for starting an awareness campaign regarding COVID-19 infection. The way we were educated will help a lot,” a local resident told Greater Now.
