Employee of Jal Shakti department injured in Sopore

Sopore 15 July:An Employee of Jal shakti department (PHE) got injured when he was repairing main pipe line of Zangair Water supply in Sopore town of North Kashmir.
The injured employee Dilawar Ahmad Mir has received serious injuries in his upper and lower jaw.
Employees alleged that large number of farmers in this area are installing motors to suck water for their gardens which is totally illegal and we repeatedly request to do not use drinking water for gardens.
Department has already raided several places in Zaingair area to ensure smooth supply of water to the consumers and have seized large number of motors and other equipments from the Paddy fields and home gardens.
Jal Shakti department have urged the local populace not to use drinking water for other purposes and not use pumps as it creates air pressure in the water pipes.
While talking to Greater now Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department Sopore Ghulam Rasool Larwal said that one of our field employee was repairing a water pipe line and during this due to the pressure in the pipeline he got hit on face and he received serious injuries.
We once agian request the people of sopore and its adjoining areas not to use illegal pumps and motors as it wastes a lot of drinking water and it causes problems for us and with this our field staff suffers as well.
