Down Syndrome Day celebrated at Dagger Parivar School Baramulla

Baramulla, Mar 21: Down Syndrome Day is annually celebrated on 21 March worldwide and it was celebrated at ‘Dagger Parivaar School’ Baramulla with the theme end the stereotypes.

Notably the school is designed for specially abled children of Baramulla with different medical conditions including Down Syndrome affected children.

The children performed cultural programmes on various activities like group dance, group song, solo dance etc. The captivating energy and enthusiasm was praised by the parents and civil officials.

The event was graced by various prominent personalities who appreciated the Indian Army and Indrani Balan Foundation for the noble initiative in the valley.

The event was supported and encouraged by the different administrative officers of Baramulla.

On the occasion parents of differently abled children praised the school management and appreciated its work for the noble cause.

Pertinently Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that happens when the baby gets three copies of chromosome 21, (Trisomy 21) instead of the usual two. Accordingly for having three copies of Chromosome Number 21, the 21st of March is observed as World Down Syndrome Day.
