DODA POLICE ORGANISES CYBER AWARENESS DAY AT BHADERWAH, DODA AND GANDOH

In order to make the general public aware about cyber crime and to reach out to the public, Doda Police organised Cyber Awareness cum Cyber Jagrukta Divas at Boys Higher Secondary School Bhaderwah, GDC Doda and GHS Gandoh.

The programme was attended by a large number of Students and teachers from the college and schools. ASP Bhaderwah, SDPO Bhaderwah, Dy.SP Hqrs Doda, SDPO Gandoh, SHO Bhaderwah, SHO Doda and SHO Gandoh delivered lectures on cyber awareness.


The main motive behind conducting such programmes was to provide awareness of Cyber Frauds among the general public particularly Students. The officers briefed the participants about various types of cyber threats/ activities viz Identity theft, credit card fraud, Data stealing, Cyber stalking and bullying, Phishing , Sextortion, ATM Cloning Fraud , OLX/OTP /QR scan frauds, Online Gaming Frauds, Lottery/Fake loan frauds and other Social media and bank frauds.

Officers advised the participants to be aware while surfing internet and not to fall prey to cyber criminals. They also appealed them to spread the awareness among others as well as regarding the risks associated with digital transactions and social media applications in use.

They also appealed to the participants not to share OTPs or Bank Account details and Passwords or any other sensitive and personal information with anyone. Officers also explained the ways to adopt Precautionary measures while conducting internet banking and online transactions.


Participants were also cautioned to keep their social media accounts secure and safe and also against accepting friend requests from unknown persons or chatting with unauthenticated persons on social media.


As the event drew to a close, participants expressed their gratitude to the police for organizing such an informative and impactful program. Many pledged to take the lessons learned at the event and apply them in their daily lives, helping to create a safer and more secure digital landscape for all.
