Doda:Today after getting specific information through reliable sources, a Police party headed by Inspector Vikram Singh, SHO PS Gandoh and troops of 04 RR launched a joint search operation in forest area of Gandoh.

During search an old hideout of militants in Khasodi Chansar forest falling in the jurisdiction of PS Gandoh was busted by Doda Police and Army’s 4 Rashtriya Rifles.

During search Arms ammunition and Explosive material in rusted condition viz :- UBGL Barrel-01 No, UBGL grenade -01 No, RPG shell-01, Electronic detonator-25 Nos and UBGL Accessories – 2 Nos was recovered from the hideout.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 52/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Gandoh and investigation has been started.

It is pertinent to mention that the area wherefrom the arms/explosive material has been recovered is abandoned and entire forest covered area which has remained highly prone to militancy in the past when the militancy was at its peak in District Doda.

The arms/explosive material seems to have dumped by militants years back during militancy there.
