Baramulla, March 10: District Legal Services Authority Baramulla saved an abandoned baby boy who was abandoned on 09-03-2022 by unknown persons at Ehtisham Pora Sheikh Mohalla Boniyar.

In a statement issued to Greater Now News, In the initial process of the incident, SHO Boniyar received an information from the reliable sources that a baby boy has been abandoned by some unknown person at Ehtisham Pora Sheikh Mohalla Boniyar.

On reaching the place of occurrence, SHO Boniyar took the baby into his custody and produced him before the Ld. Judicial Munsiff 1st Class Boniyar. The concerned Presiding Officer intimated the matter to District Legal Services Authority Baramulla.

In a prompt action, Fariqa Nazir (Secretary/Sub-Judge) District Legal Services Authority Baramulla immediately contacted the Child Protection Officer Mr. Kaiser Ali and a rescue team was rushed immediately and the abandoned baby was rescued in terms of law and procedure. The abandoned baby was given immediate medical aid at Boniyar and the concerned Chief Medical Officer also arranged an ambulance in which the baby was finally taken to Srinagar and handed over to Incharge ‘Cradle Baby Reception Centre Srinagar’ where the baby was again given medical relief and the baby boy was named by Cradle Baby Reception Centre as Mohammad Kaif.

Meanwhile, the Police has also registered an FIR bearing No. 14/2022 u/s 317 IPC and the investigation of the case is going on.
