Baramulla, Mar 25: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P.K. Pole accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today visited Tangmarg wherein he kick-started the plantation drive by planting Chinar sabling under ”Green J&K Drive Forest Restoration”. The Plantation Drive was organized by Special Forest Division Tangmarg.

Speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir said that the aim of this plantation drive is to generate awareness among the people for the importance of planting trees. He emphasized the role of trees in protection of the environment and human survival and urged upon all stakeholders including the general public to plant more and more trees in this plantation season.

The DC Baramulla also planted a Conifer sabling on the occasion and highlighted the need to protect and conserve the environment. He said that tree plantation is very important for the safe environment and the initiative will go a long way in inculcating awareness among the masses about environment and its conservation.
