Handwara, June 30: To review the Security Scenario of the Police District, Dy. Inspector-General of Police NKR Shri Sujit Kumar-IPS today visited Handwara and chaired a meeting with Police officers.The DIG NKR was recieved by SP Handwara Sandeep Gupta-IPS and he was presented ceremonial guard of honour at DPO Handwara.

He also inspected the office work by visiting all branches of DPO Handwara where some officials have also been rewarded and overall office work has been appreciated.

During his visit, the DIG NKR chaired security review meeting with Police officers to assess the law & order situation in the PD. The meeting was attended by SP Handwara Sh Sandeep Gupta-IPS, ASP Handwara Shri Mashkoor Ahmad-JKPS and other officers of jurisdictional police.

DIG NKR appreciated the role of Handwara Police for their Professionalism in maintaining Peace and Public order and keeping the criminal activities under check. He also hailed the role of Handwara Police in combating drug menace in the Police District and exhorted upon the officers to remain cautious and alert to maintain peaceful atmosphere as anti-national elements are making efforts to disturb it. DIG NKR said that the synergy among the forces is the key to thwart any nefarious designs of the enemies of the nation.

The DIG NKR directed officers to strengthen the security grid and plug the gaps with tight security measures to neutralise those involved in terrorist and criminal activities. He said that stringent action has to be taken against the elements found involved in unlawful activities to ensure peaceful environment for the people.

The DIG also inaugrated newly constructed block at DPO Handwara and a water plant at DPL Handwara for the welfare of Jawans. He also visited Police Station Vilgam to inspect the crime and other works of Police Station.
