COVID-19 Hygiene kits distributed among Sanitation Workers’ families at Valmiki Colony

Jammu 18th June 2020: Continuing with its efforts to spread awareness, among poor people, about personal hygiene to avoid exposure to COVID-19 virus, We The Human Forum for Nature and Mankind, today, distributed seventy COVID-19 Hygiene kits among families of sanitation workers living in Valmiki Colony Jammu. Each COVID-19 Hygiene kit comprised of hands Sanitizer, six disinfectant soaps, two detergent soaps and three reusable facemasks. Sanitary pads were also distributed among ladies to maintain menstrual hygiene. Apart from Capt Lalit Sharma IFS APCCF Retd, Vice Chairman of We The Human, S. Ajab Singh Executive Member, Pavitra Panth Office Secretary, Garu Bhatti President, Ravi Gill Vice Presiy Valmiki Colony Welfare Committee, Pujari Mahender Dass and other local citizens were present on the occasion.

Lalit Sharma exhorting family members of Sanitation Workers to regularly wash hands with soap, maintain personal hygiene wear clean clothes and use facemasks, said that the sanitation workers are more prone to exposure to COVID-19 virus. They are doing yeoman’s job in this Pandemic times by keeping Jammu city neat & clean. But, they need to wear facemasks, gloves and long shoes while doing sanitation duty. By doing this, they’ll contribute enough to government’s efforts to make Jammu CORONA free.

S. Ajab the Executive Member informed that We The Human, a public charitable trust, has distributed more than six hundred COVID-19 Hygiene kits among safai karamcharis of Samba & Jammu, rural folks of village Chani Mansar, Marh, Sohanjana, Jyoti Kristu Hospital Samba, Beli Charana and Phallan Mandal.

Apart from this dry ration was distributed among families in distress under guidance and coordination with Office of SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil IPS. The trust aims to spread awareness about personal hygiene especially hands hygiene and has set up target of distributing more than 2000 COVID-19 Hygiene kits among Sanitation Workers and poor people.

Garru Bhatti expressed thanks to Jammu team of We The Human for taking care of Safai- Karamcharis and their families living in Valmiki Colony Jammu. Pujari Mahender Dass also spoke on the occasion.
