Baramulla:While the district administration, including the Health Department, has geared up for tackling the situation arising from spreading of Covid-19, the Bijhama police on the directions of SSP Baramulla Mr Rayees Mohammad Bhat and under supervision of SDPO Uri Mr Junaid Wali have also been on their toes in spreading awareness among the public.

Bijhama Police organised a campaign to create awareness among the masses about the coronavirus and how to deal with patients who have contracted it.

SHO Bijhama Mr Nasir Ahmad Bhat Interacted with the shopkeepers and customers at Bijhama Market and the locals at Muqampiran and briefed them about the covid SOP’S viz a viz importance of wearing mask , Social distancing and use of sanitizers and Masks were distributed to some persons also.

He also held a meeting with locals of the area and briefed them about the causes, symptoms and preventive steps to be taken for tackling the spread of coronavirus.

SHO Bijhama Mr Nasir Ahmad Bhat said that understanding the social responsibility, efforts were being made by the police to aware the common man so that the deadly virus could not spread in the area. He said every police official had been directed to launch awareness campaign and start it right now.

Meanwhile vehicle checking for covid SOP’S is conducted on daily basis and people without masks were fined and today Rs 1400 was realised as fine from mask rule violators not wearing the mask.
