Chadoora residents protest against erratic power supply
Budgam, Oct 23: Residents of Chadoora area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday blocked the Chadoora-Charar-i-sharief road for several hours to protest against the ‘failure’ of the Power Development Department (PDD).
The residents of various areas of Chadoora area including Sogam, Repora, Yarikalan, Repora, Panzan, Durbhgh and others said that they are not getting the electricity as per the schedule.
They said it has become routine for PDD to cut down electricity supply, adding that such a worse situation continued from the last two weeks.
The protesting women said that they have appealed to the authorities several times to look into the matter but all in vain.
Another protester at Chadoora said that despite paying their regular traffic bills, they are not getting the power supply as per the schedule.
They appealed to the administration to look into the matter and ensure the electricity is supplied as per proper schedule so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, SHO Chadoora Sajad Ahmad along with AEE reached the spot and assured the protesters that their issue will be resolved earlier—(KNO)
