Baramulla, Jan 16: Baramulla Working Journalist Association’s core group held an important meeting under the chairmanship of Chairman BWJA Karamat Qayoom and President Gulzar Ahmad Zargar. After hours long discussions and deliberations, the working committee and executive body of BWJA was constituted. On this occasion BWJA executive reaffirms that BWJA will work for the welfare of media persons besides safeguarding the interests of working journalists.

The committee constituted is as Karamat Qayoom as Chairman/Patron BWJA, Gulzar Ahmed Zargar as President, Sajad Hussain Pir as Vice President, Altaf Baba as Chief Advisor, Anzhar Mahjoo as General Secretary and Iqbal Amin Treasurer.

The executive body of BWJA is as President Pattan Media Association as Executive Member- Rahi Nisar, President Tangmarg Media Association Executive Member-Ishfaq Dar, Abid Nabi as Organizer/Executive member, Suhail Khan as Executive Member, Majid Sheeri as Executive Member.

BWJA executive has reiterated that in contemporary circumstances challenges of the media has increased manifold, however, BWJA would extended support to professional and genuine working journalists and there would be zero tolerance to blackmailing and extortion.

“BWJA believes in ethics of journalism. We will always support professional journalists and there is no space for those indulging in blackmailing, extortion and yellow journalism,” they added.
