Bandipora, Aug 26: In continuation to stringent action against absconders, Police have arrested an absconder in Bandipora who was evading his arrest from last 06 years.

In a statement issued to “Greater Now News” reads that, ‘Police received a warrant issued by the Hon’ble court of Addl. Special Mobile Magistrate Beerwah Budgam against an absconder Abdul Hameed Khan son of Abdul Gafar Khan resident of Panzigam Bandipora’.

Acting on specific information about his presence, a police party from PS Bandipora headed by SHO Bandipora Insp Showkat Ahmad under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora Shri Mohammad Idrees-JKPS raided the specific location and arrested the said absconder. He was wanted by law for his involvements in several criminal cases and was absconding since 2015.

It is pertinent to mention that the said accused person is indexed as bad character.

Our consistent actions against anti social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities, statement added.
