Bandipora, July 17: Police in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday said it is on a mission to regulate the smooth flow of traffic and advised commuters to follow traffic rules, to cut the accidents linked with a rule violation.
The police also seeks cooperation from the locals to make the smooth flow of traffic a regular occurrence in this northern district.
While talking to reporters, the Station House Officer Bandipora, Ashiq Hussain Mirsaid that special squads have been constituted to ensure implementation of traffic rules so that traffic flow is made smooth in busy areas and during rush hours in the town.
He said, apart from efforts being made to seek the co-operation of the locals especially daily commuters, who would otherwise unnecessarily get stuck in traffic jams, the commuters were also advised and informed about the traffic rules, in which they were largely succeeding.
The officer while urging people to act more responsibly said that there is a need to find a concrete solution to this problem in the market areas as well while stressing that the commuters must follow the rule book which will help cut the number of accidents.
He even advises the commuters to opt for carpooling, going on foot to nearby areas and making use of public transport instead of private one when taking a private vehicle is least important.
