Jammu, April 06: Socio-political activist and the vice-president of Gujjar Bakarwal Youth welfare conference Jammu and kashmir, Guftar Ahmad Chowdhary on Tuesday said that Baba Ghulam shah badshah University Rajouri is at high risk and it might get closed in couple of years if fee hike continues.

While talking to Greater Now he said “I requests all the Leaders, Representatives, and Activists of Peer Panjal to raise voice for Baba Ghulam shah badshah university Rajouri, In year 2011 about 300 students took admission in Engineering faculty of the university and today only 86 students are enrolled out of 300 and all this is happening because of massive fee hike”.

“From 40,000 Per year to 1,04,000 per year fee is touching sky. Same is happening in all department which is the main reason that students don’t want to take admission as they are getting good offers in private colleges on very cheap packages. This is high time that our leaders, civil society members, Representatives of Pir panjal should raise this issue otherwise this university will get closed in next few years” he added.

“Although university is prospering in all fields but the issue of massive fee hike is creating panic for the thousands of students who had a lot of expectations from the university, I request Lieutenant Governor to intervene in this serious issue and solve accordingly” he added.
