Alleged Malpractices: Commissioner SMC accords sanction for prosecution of 5 employees

Srinagar, Dec 12: Srinagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan has reportedly according sanctions for the prosecution of 5 employees for offenses punishable under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

 

In October this year, SMC had started the process of departmental inquiries against some employees allegedly involved in malpractices.

 

Reliable sources told news agency that Commissioner SMC today accorded the sanctions to prosecute at least five employees allegedly involved in corrupt practices. The nod from the Commissioner will enable the anti-graft bodies to initiate further action against these employees who include some Ward Officers, Building Inspectors, and former Chief Enforcement Officer.

 

Commissioner SMC has already placed dozens of employees mostly in charge ward officers under suspension for dereliction of duties.
