Srinagar, Aug 26: Police on Thursday arrested Ashiq Mir, one of the associates of Imran Ahmad Ganai @ (Shahid Imran), running social media page –Kashmir Crown—in connection with another case of exhortation, officials said.

They said that while Mir was bailed out in earlier case, police arrested him soon after release in another case—(Fir no.145) under IPC sections of 384 (extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) which stands registered in police station Dangiwachi against Ashiq Mir and Shahid Imran.

A Police officer confirmed the arrest of Ashiq Mir, regarding the main accused Shahid Imran, the police officer told that he (Imran) is presently on anticipatory bail. “Law will take it’s own course. People shall not need to worry and the case will be concluded on merits,” he added.
